Refugees Development Resource Camps

The Refugees Development Resource Camps has created the following strategic plan to guide its efforts over the next four years, and beyond. The plan ensures the UR effectively Refugees development providers in increasing program quality, and ultimately improve Refugees outcomes across the world Refugees. It is based on a four inquiry process conducted by the Refugees Investment and also included a variety of inputs related to Refugees development.

Child Education Strategy

Every child has the right to learn. Although more children than ever before are enrolled in school, the duty-bearers obligated to realize this right for every child are collectively failing to improve learning and this failure is deep and broad and has significant consequences. Many children lack the knowledge and skills to realize their full potential and maximize their contribution to their communities.

This will include focusing particularly on children excluded on the basis of gender, children with disabilities, the poorest, ethnic and linguistic minorities and children affected by emergencies. There will also be a shift in focus to expand support for reaching children during their early years and during adolescence.

The Wash Strategy’s

By achieve equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all. By achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations. These objectives align with the targets for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene and will contribute to the broader Agenda for Sustainable Development that is critical for children.

The purpose of this new strategy for Wash is to guide UR’s refugees-wide contribution to achieving refugee’s development goals. Ensure access to water and sanitation for all by it's designed to inform and support United Refugees core planning and strategy processes and to guide the implementation of our programs. It defines the principles to be applied to all our work and a menu of approaches and results areas to be tailored to each camp’s context with links to guidance documents that provide further detail on implementation.

Shelter and settlements

shelter and settlement interventions which remain central to effective humanitarian responses refugees. The strategy describes how we will support in meeting the shelter needs of people affected, we are committed to further advancing the effectiveness of shelter and settlement work for those in needs.

The evolution of the strategy has been a collaborative process that has engaged partners at all levels. Driven by the UR Lead Agencies, we have reviewed past performance, articulated key priorities and evaluated the current humanitarian landscape and future trends. The strategy defines core UR priorities while articulating the inherent connectedness with other partners which will be required to achieve effective shelter and settlements responses.

United Refugees Management exercises oversight for United Refugees wide camps and procedures and works with the bureaus to implement refugee wide and United Refugees Management reforms.
